About the Author

Lisa Snider-Photo Credit Below My name is Lisa Snider, and I created these accessibility recommendations for archivists.

I have been working with website accessibility and usability since 1999, and am now focusing on website accessibility and usability in the archives/library field.

I have been a professional web developer since 1996, and have run my web development business since 1999. I am also completing my Master of Archival Studies degree and Master of Library and Information Science degree (MAS and MLIS) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

I have been very active in the Society of American Archivists Joint Working Group on Accessibility, specializing in archival web site accessibility. I have also created, and will Chair, the new Accessibility Special Interest Section for the Association of Canadian Archivists.

As well, I am completing the first known publicly available research study on the accessibility of Canadian archival websites. The results of this study will be made public at the SAA Conference in San Diego in August 2012.
